My friends and I are college students, and at the beginning of this school year, a cat started appearing at our front porch. She started coming around more and more often until one day she looked kind of sickly. We asked around and found out she had previously been someone else’s cat, but they already had a cat that dominated her, so they kicked her out. However, she was spayed and had her shots, but she was not chipped. We took her to the vet and got her treated for fleas and ear mites.
We have named her Porch. She is super friendly, talkative, and cuddly. She loves people, playing, looking outside, and napping in our beds. We believe she is barely a year old, and she truly is perfect to us. She has never hissed, even though we have bathed her, given her several rounds of ear drops, taken her to the vet, and trimmed her nails several times. Unfortunately, our lease does not allow us to keep a cat.
We are heading into our summer and will be graduating next year, and none of us know where we will go, so we cannot confidently provide this cat with a consistent life and meet her needs. We have many things that we would be more than happy to give to the future owner, such as a cat tree, litter box, nail trimmers, soft cone, flea medicine, etc.
