HELEN SANDERS CAT FACILITY- WE'RE BACK ON TRACK!

The SBACC has seen our feline population increase markedly over the past several years. The Helen Sanders Cat Facility will provide safe, comfortable housing for our many felines in a facility that protects them from the elements and minimizes the spread of disease. After some unfortunate delays, we are once again on track to build our new facility! The walls are up and we are on our way! Below are some photos taken at the end of March. We expect to move into the facility sometime in June!
Although we have nearly 75% of the funding in place, we are using our limited reserves to complete construction. Now we must focus on raising the funds necessary to replenish our reserves to ensure the future of the Care Center. We must also make a number of improvements to the existing shelter for the care and comfort of our dogs.
We are offering community naming opportunities, a great way to recognize your family, pet or loved one and support the Seal Beach Animal Care Center. A downloadable form is available here! A diagram of the floor plan is shown below, with the rooms that are still available for naming! Of course, donations in any amount are welcome and very much appreciated!
The late Helen Sanders was a visionary feline advocate, and promoted what is now called "Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR)" before anybody knew what that meant. She single handedly left a legacy through her teachings about humane treatment of homeless animals and responsible pet ownership in the community around Seal Beach. After years of struggling to make this dream come true, the SBACC is finally able to build this facility in her honor!
