Fig is a sweet shepherd mix who was found running on the streets by one of our volunteers. She had no idea how to walk on a leash when she first got here and was quite shy. This girl made huge strides and fast!! Fig is so ready to make the most of this next chapter in her life, and we are so glad that she feels safe enough with us to bloom as quickly as she has.
We believe she is around a year and a half. She needed to be spayed when she was off her stray hold, so we haven’t been able to pair her up with any of the dogs here yet. However, we believe she wants to be friends with them!
Fig does fantastic on leash now, although lizards are her kryptonite and will have her zipping around hunting them. She is such a smart girl that she would pick up leash training so quickly in a home!
New people can be a little intimidating for her, but even that has improved greatly in her short time here at the shelter. Fig is very food motivated and also LOVES walking so much now that she greets new people excitedly at her gate if she sees a leash in their hands!
