This gorgeous, mellow mannered, senior girl was dumped at a grooming facility by her previous owner. She was not in good shape, and she didn’t understand why her owner never came back for her.
That was no way for this senior girl’s story to end. Now she is with us, getting the care she needs. We know there will be a family out there willing to give her a soft place to land to ride out her remaining golden years. Azalea was clearly breed until they could no longer get a viable litter out of her, and by the way her teeth are worn down she was probably chewing on cage bars for a very long time.
Since being with us, she has learned how to play with toys! She just loves being with people and getting affection. Her previous family did not deserve her, but will do our best to give her all the love she missed out on!
Azalea had some medical issues to get past. It took some time to get her skin issues under control. Then she had to be spayed and have some masses removed and sent out for biopsy. Luckily all of her masses came back benign – yay! However, when the vet was spaying her, they found a deceased litter of puppies still inside of her. They couldn’t believe it! This revelation confirmed our suspicions that Azalea was overbred her entire life and dumped once they didn’t get the last litter from her.
Now she is just so FULL OF LIFE! She chases lizards in the yard, enjoys her long morning walks, and is toy OBSESSED! Azalea is now living the life she deserved from the very start.
Sweet Azalea has become somewhat of an ambassador for the shelter in her time here! She loves coming out to greet groups visiting – from children all the way up the seniors. Who wouldn’t love this girl?!
We know there is somebody out there that will fall in love with this sweet girl, and be willing to open up their loving home so she can live out her golden years in luxury!
