It is with great sadness that we share that our beautiful Chantilly has passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
Chantilly came to SBACC with her sister, Lace in 2009, when they were about two years old. She was clearly beautiful and very sweet, but very shy. She was not a cat that would approach or welcome pets from visitors, although she would happily accept pets from the staff and volunteers she trusted. You could look into her beautiful, slightly crossed, eyes and see her sweet, gentle soul.
She was adopted a couple of years ago by a wonderful family that knew it could take a very long time for her to adjust. They tried very hard, but Chantilly withdrew further and stopped eating. Once medical issues were ruled out, it was determined that she was homesick. SBACC was her home and the cats she lived with, her old friends. She came back to us and started eating again. We realized she had been home all along.
Chantilly will be greatly missed, but we know her sister Lace will be there to greet her along with so many of the cats she has loved that went before her.
We will always love you, sweet girl.
