Hi, I’m Lyon. I was about four months old when I came to SBACC. I was in critical condition, dehydrated, malnourished, and not very responsive. I couldn’t sit, stand, or eat, and my pupils were dilated. I’m told that I looked like I was dying and probably would have in another few days. I was immediately sent to the vet, hospitalized, and had tons of tests that ruled out lots of different disorders. It was finally concluded that I had FIP, which, not too long ago, was a death sentence but is now treatable and curable thanks to a new antiviral medication. I was started on this medicine, and within a few days, I started to get better. It was like a miracle, but the treatment is not quick and easy; it takes 84 days of daily medication. I continued to gain weight and get better, and was soon looking and acting like a normal kitty. I have finally finished my meds and am doing really well. I have even finished the required 84 days of observation, so I am considered cured! I’m a playful, friendly, and affectionate young cat, ready to find my forever home. I hope you will come meet me, and I bet you will fall in love with me.
