Mabel is a very cute Dachshund/Spaniel mix that is around 5 years old. Her previous owner passed away, and it took a few days for his friends to discover him, all while Mabel was stuck in the same house. We couldn’t believe how well she adjusted when she came to the shelter – she was playing with toys within the hour and making doggy friends! It is amazing how resilient dogs are!
This girl has had some allergy issues that needed some TLC. The top of her coat was gorgeous, but her underside was dry and yeasty. She got started right away on meds for her skin, and medicated baths! Mabel was feeling less and less itchy, which we were so happy to see!
Mabel LOVES toys, she clears out the toy bin every day, and takes them all around the office. A toy that squeaks, one that crinkles, a bouncy ball she loves them all! She also loves people and will be a great companion for walks or curled up next to you as you dive into a great book or tv series. Mabel will also help keep your home secure as she happily investigates any sounds she hears! She isn’t barky where she just barks all the time, but she will alert when she seems someone in front of the house or hears some commotion. So if you don’t want a dog that barks, she is certainly not the dog for you. You have to love the doxie quirks!
She wins the hearts of all that meet her, with her wagging tail and sweet smile. Mabel needs a committed home willing to keep up her allergy maintenance and just love her as deeply as her last owner had before he passed.
